Default Poll: Should items you drop be reserved to you?

I, along with countless others have been scammed by drop scams.

I would like it to be possible for all drops from your inventory to be reserved to you. Acting much like the items reserved from a dropped monster.

This would prevent drop thefts, and such, therefore making it only possible to recive another item from another play through a drop window.

Please Pledge you name to the list for: Yes I agree with the statement "Drops from Inventory should be reserved to the designated player."

Or

Pledge you name to the list: No I do not agree with the statement"Drops from Inventory should be reserved to the designated player."

But I would want the "reserved" duration to not be the recently updated 10min that monster drops are now, limit it to 1-2 min at most.

He is talking about drop scams, which means he is illegaly downloading and using third party software in the belief that he will gain some advantage and try to cheat the game, which means he got what he deserved, a trojan of some sort.

You got scammed because you tried to find some sort of tool to cheat the game, and you want a counter for trojans? Anet states clearly that third party systems with the intent to alter the game are prohibited, I'm sure they say all even though they obviously allow speaking programs to be used widely. There is no natural game function which forces you to drop items, and droping items is an easy way to dispose of items you don't want wile letting others loot your unwanted goods. We do not need a counter for a pitfall that only applies to idiots who are trying to cheat and get scammed.

I often use this to give items to other people in the group. I just drop it on the ground and let them decide who gets it.

As far as scamms go, how many time to you have to be scammed before you stop dropping items you want to keep when you are around people you dont' trust?

I drop stuff on the ground for members of my group all the time. Keys, collector items, etc. Saves from having to go through the whole trade routine.

When with guild groups we tend to just drop things we don't want, but if you pick them up and drop them, at least the people who do want it, don't have to wait 10 minutes to get it. Its much easier than trading, and doesn't mean you lose a party member for 10 minutes while they are waiting for your green to deassign.

Reason: Stupidty is no excuse
And ingame drops are easier then ingame trades, Quicker to drop a key or materials then to trade on the run.

With drop scam they mean ,what i noticed to be the new scame, or atleast its happening more often then before:

The scammer tells people he knows a way to double your items( mostly the item he suggest are ectos)

Then he brings the person to Thirdty river ( this is the place i heard of where they do it recently) and will tell the person to drop his ectos in a spot near a weird looking rock,BUT to make it believable he will move a very far distance, so the person thinks well if hes gonna run for my ectos, i will get it before he gets here.

Then the scammer triggers the cutscene which will teleport both people there and when the scene is over he races you for your ectos and you just got robbed.

Pretty stupid scam if you fall for it if you ask me.

I mean people understand this THERE ARE NO CHEATS FOR GUILDWARS.

Edit: Oops /not signed here too, i also use drop on floor to give items to people.
I did once drop my wayward by mistake -_- atleast the person that picked it up gave it back to me,i guess he knew if he didnt he woudnt get any heals from me :P

Definately disagree. If someone is stupid enough to believe that dropping an item will dupe it, they deserve to lose it. Sometimes people really do need a punch in the face to learn something.

...stupididty should not make others suffer...

in other words, dont have this made b/c you were to stupid to drop your stuff

if you are giving a really rare thing to someone in the group, then you trade if you think that others will try to steal it
